FTP


We have just seen the use of Telnet to allow remote logins to computers over networks. Now we look at another very useful protocol. This one is concerned, not with letting us log into a remote computer, but with allowing us to transfer files between two different computers on the Internet. It is named "File Transfer Protocol", but is usually just called FTP. We will see how FTP can be used to fetch files from many different sources on the Internet.
