Step Four: Building Your Own WebQuest, Designing the Process

The most important aspect of this stage of the creative process is clarity. It is vital that any directions you give are clear and concise. These are the directions your students will follow, and you want to make sure they dont get lost!

  1. Outline the steps students will follow to complete the Quest. These steps should be in logical order so that students can follow them sequentially.
  2. Embed any links students may need as they follow the steps.
  3. Include a list of resources students have access to apart from the Internet. These can include books, classroom materials, etc.
  4. Provide strategies that help students organize information, such as graphical organizers, summary tables, guiding questions or flowcharts. You may want to provide these materials for your students. If you do, include them in the list of available resources students will access apart from the Internet.
