Step Two: Building a Telecollaborative Project, Concluding Your Project

Share the Final Product: It is important that you provide appropriate closure to your project. Participants want to know how everything turns out in the end, and they want to see how their piece is reflected in the outcome. You may also want to share the results with fellow educators, such as your principal or district supervisor. Consider sharing the final product by:

  • Sending each participant a hard copy of everyones submissions.
  • Posting to a specific Web site, where participants can easily locate their project.
  • Writing up a project summary and send to each participant.

Evaluate You Project: It is important to know whether your project was successful or not. Create an evaluation that participants complete to give you constructive feedback. The information you gain from this evaluation can be used for your own professional development or can be used as a means to promote this type of activity within your school or district. Students as well as teachers may complete the project evaluation.

Stay Connected: Oftentimes, students and/or teachers develop close partnerships and friendships throughout the project. It is nice to provide ways for students and/or classrooms to stay connected once the project officially ends. Share e-mail addresses, or schedule casual follow-ups the next year. Brainstorm ways to best stay in touch with your participants.
